Husband to Shanya Gray since August 19th, 2006 and father to two wonderful boys: Elias and Asher.
When were you born, and where are you from?
A: I was born on Oct. 17. 1977 in Chicago Heights, IL. I grew up in the Southern Suburban town of University Park and I attended Crete-Monee High School.
How long have you been the pastor of Keystone?
A: I have officially been the pastor of Keystone for two years. Prior to this I served as Interim Pastor with a fellow colleague named Darwin Rodgers.
What other ministry/pastoral experience do you have prior to coming to Keystone?
A: Before I served here at Keystone, I served as a church planter in South Holland, IL as the Youth Pastor at a church startup where I created and oversaw the youth ministry
Why did you choose to enter pastoral ministry?
A: You know; I don’t know if I chose pastoral ministry in as much as I sensed I could do no other vocation in my life. Subsequent to this “call” I enrolled in a Christian college for Training.
What other professions do you have besides pastor of Keystone Baptist Church?
A: I am currently serving as an assistant professor of Bible at the Moody Bible Institute. I have taught there for the last 9 years. I teach predominantly New Testament studies.
When did you become a Christian and what was that experience like?
A: I became a Christian at the age of 10 but did not know what that meant until I was 22 years old. It was then that I understood the Gospel, and actually began to live as scripture demanded.
What is your favorite thing about Chicago?
A: I love the lakefront. Love the water. One of the must-haves of my life is access to a body of water. Summers in the City are also Fantastic!
What is your greatest accomplishment?
A: To date my greatest accomplishment has been loving and leading my family in a way that pleases God. I consider everything else I’ve accomplished (education, career, calling) to be icing on the cake!
