Sankofa Student Ministries

In the 1970’s, God gave African American pastors in Chicago a burden for their college students who were away studying on various campuses. The fruit of this burden is Sankofa Student Ministries formed in 1972 at Keystone, originally named Urban College and Career Ministries, then later Black Student Ministries.

Rev. Mack White, the founder and first staff member began fellowship groups with African American students on several college campuses which continues to today. Sankofa’s purpose is carried out through 4 distinctives: evangelism, fellowship, retreats and missions (information taken directly from Sankofa’s website).
